My Children

My Children

Melissa Allor

  1. My children have wavy brown hair and thoughtful, fierce brown eyes.
  2. They have a shyness about them that makes them seem aloof, but they are not stuck up.
  3. Strong and innocent enough to not be fearful, my children are intelligent, but not arrogant.
  4. They carry themselves with poise, and surround themselves with laughter.
  5. My children learn to appreciate their mother even with her helicopter parenting, and unfortunate anxiety that stems from a hard lived, hard won life.
  6. They know her courage.
  7. They are strong and defiant and stand up for what they believe in.
  8. They do not lead, but are the defenders of those less fortunate.
  9. They are loyal.
  10. They are quiet, and know the value of listening.
  11. Rather than run the show, my children stay behind the scenes, carrying the show forward.
  12. Humble and patient, my children love their family and pets.
  13. My children are ambitious, but they know when reaching the top is too great of a sacrifice.
  14. They know when to stop winning.
  15. They know that losing creates greater character.
  16. My children appreciate travel and growth.
  17. My children experience heartache and love.
  18. My children will breath in the ocean air, but fall in love with the forest breeze.
  19. Deeply hidden in the recesses of my mind, far from prying eyes and ears my children are protected.
  20. My children are a secret to the world, but not to their mother.
  21. My children live in safety protected in my mind, and not my womb.
  22. My children will never be born.
  23. My children carry themselves inside their mother, guiding her choices.
  24. My children love their cousins and watch them grow through their mother’s eyes.
  25. My children know the value of their Aunt, who passed to soon.
  26. My children soften my heart, even as the outside hardens unable to hold them close.
